Aurora Watching Combine the KP index with the weather forecast — when the sky is clear, a KP index above 2 already gives you a very good chance of seeing the aurora! Best spots: near the log cabins & the glass house area Accommodation Arctic Circle log cabin "Art House of Lady Christmas": filled with the fragrance of wood, equipped with a Finnish sauna, and in a fantastic location for aurora viewing! (Book via Booking.com, 22,330 per night — highly recommended!)

3. Santa Claus Village Day Trip Morning Experience on the Arctic Express Waking up early in the morning in the sleeper cabin, outside the window was already an endless world of ice and snow — that's when it truly hit us that we were really about to enter the Arctic Circle! During washing up, the cramped shared bathroom made brushing our teeth a real challenge. For breakfast, we simply made do inside the sleeper cabin with ingredients we'd bought the night before at a supermarket in Helsinki. We also discovered there were shower cards — passengers in the lower-level standard compartments could use this card to go to the shower room to freshen up.

Before we arrived, we wandered around exploring the other carriages, and it turned out there was also a dining car and a carriage for storing bicycles and the like.

Santa Claus Village: A Fantasy Fairytale World We arrived in Rovaniemi at 11 AM and took an express bus to Santa Claus Village. Even though it wasn't Christmas, the place was still full of festive atmosphere.

Let's head straight to the most famous restaurant — Santa's Salmon Place! The charcoal-grilled salmon here and the rich, savory cheese are absolutely delicious!

First Experience of Reindeer Sledding After lunch, we first stopped at the Arctic Circle Monument to record the moment of crossing the Arctic Circle.

We'll also head back to the Visitor Service Center to book activities for these two days: Reindeer sled 500m + Husky sled 2km (total price 105 euros). Today we'll first experience the reindeer sled — these adorable reindeer are super shy, you can't touch their heads, only their backs, and the way their little bottoms wiggle as they walk is just so soothing. Even though the pace isn't fast, moving quietly forward across the snow really does feel like a scene straight out of a movie!

Meeting Santa Claus & Sending Postcards from the Christmas Post Office Next, we arrived at Santa's office, and after passing through the elves' room filled with festive atmosphere, we finally met the legendary Santa Claus! (You're not allowed to take your own photos during the meeting.) When we told him we were from Taiwan, Santa actually replied in Chinese: "Hello!" It was such a pleasant surprise! We took a group photo and also posed for individual shots with him, but since one photo costs 40 euros (55 euros including the digital file), I decided just keeping the memory was enough for me.

The Christmas Post Office was a super fun experience — we did a little activity where everyone first picked a postcard they liked, then they were shuffled and randomly drawn by other people, and finally mailed back to whoever ended up picking their own card. It was full of surprises!

Dreamy Log Cabin Stay Experience After finishing the Santa Village tour in the afternoon, we headed to the Arctic Circle log cabin where we'd be staying tonight. The moment we arrived at the door, we were blown away by its design and surroundings!

The moment you step in, the fragrant scent of wood greets you, instantly putting you at ease. The room is fully equipped, and there's even a Finnish sauna. There's no light pollution around, making it perfect for viewing the aurora! After a short rest, we walked 1 km to the supermarket to stock up on food. By the time we got back it was already 6:20 pm, and although the sky had darkened, there was still no sign of the aurora.

The aurora exploded! An unforgettable aurora night of a lifetime After finishing our meal, we raised our glasses to toast in hopes of successfully seeing the aurora later. We waited patiently until 9 o'clock, when the KP index showed the highest probability of an aurora. I suggested heading to the glass house area to try our luck, and to my surprise, just as we stepped out of the cabin, we saw the aurora!

At 9:20, the aurora began to slowly dance, like a green ribbon swaying in the sky.

9:40, the aurora suddenly erupted! The entire sky was filled with dazzling green light, blossoming instantly like an aurora flower, leaving everyone breathless with awe.

After returning to the cabin, we soaked in the Finnish sauna, occasionally stepping outside to check on the northern lights, and it wasn't until midnight that we reluctantly drifted off to sleep.
