Besides enjoying a delicious salmon meal at the famous Santa's Salmon Place, we also booked the must-do animal experiences of the Arctic Circle — reindeer sledding and husky sledding. Aurora Observation Combine the KP index with the weather forecast — when the sky is clear, a KP index above 2 gives you a very high chance of seeing the aurora! (Book via Booking.com, 22,330 per night, highly recommended!)

III. A Day Trip to Santa Claus Village Arctic Express Morning Experience Waking up early in the sleeper cabin, the window revealed an endless world of ice and snow—this is when we truly realized we were really about to enter the Arctic Circle! Washing up in the cramped shared bathroom turned brushing teeth into a challenge. Breakfast was prepared from groceries we'd bought at a Helsinki supermarket the night before, made simply in our sleeper cabin. We also discovered shower cards—passengers in the lower-class cabins could use these cards to access the shower rooms for washing up.

Before we arrived, we wandered through the other train cars, and it turned out there was also a dining car and a car for storing bicycles and other things.

Santa Claus Village: A Dreamlike Fairy-Tale World We arrived in Rovaniemi at 11 o'clock and took a shuttle bus to Santa Claus Village. Even though it wasn't Christmas, the place was still brimming with festive atmosphere.

We headed straight to the most famous restaurant—Santa's Salmon Place, and the charcoal-grilled salmon and rich, fragrant cheese here are absolutely delicious!

My First Reindeer Sleigh Experience After lunch, we went to the Arctic Line Monument to capture the moment of crossing the Arctic Line.

Then went to the visitor service center to book activities for these two days: Reindeer sledding 500m + Husky sledding 2km (total price 105 euros). Today we first tried the reindeer sledding. These adorable reindeer are very shy — you can't touch their heads, only their backs, and the way their little butts wiggle as they walk is super soothing. Although the speed isn't fast, moving quietly through the snow really felt like a scene from a movie!

Meeting Santa Claus & Sending Postcards at the Christmas Post Office Next, we arrived at Santa's office, passing through the elves' room filled with festive atmosphere, and finally met the legendary Santa Claus! (You're not allowed to take your own photos during the meeting) When we said we were from Taiwan, Santa actually replied in Chinese: "Ni hao!" We were so surprised! We took a group photo and also posed individually with him, but since one photo costs 40 euros (55 euros including the digital file), I decided to just keep the memory in my heart instead.

The Christmas Post Office was such a fun experience! We did a little project—first, everyone picked their favorite postcard, then they were shuffled around and others randomly selected one. Finally, we sent them back to the person who drew our card, full of delightful surprises!

Dream Log Cabin Stay Experience After finishing the Santa Claus Village tour in the afternoon, we headed to the Arctic Circle log cabin where we'd be staying tonight. As soon as we arrived at the door, we were blown away by its design and surroundings!

The moment you walk in, a burst of fragrant wood scent instantly puts you at ease. The room is fully equipped, and there's even a Finnish sauna. There's no light pollution around, making it perfect for viewing the aurora! After a short rest, we walked 1 km to the supermarket to stock up on food. By the time we got back, it was already 6:20 in the evening. Although the sky had already darkened, there was still no sign of the aurora.

Aurora Explosion! An Unforgettable Night of Northern Lights After dinner, we raised our glasses to toast to hopefully seeing the aurora later. We waited patiently until 9 o'clock, when the KP index showed the highest chance of aurora. I suggested heading to the glass house area to try our luck — and to our surprise, the moment we stepped out of the cabin, the aurora was already there!

At 9:20, the aurora began to slowly dance, like green ribbons swaying in the sky.

At 9:40, the aurora suddenly erupted spectacularly! The entire sky was overtaken by dazzling green light, like aurora flowers blooming in an instant, leaving us breathless with wonder.

After returning to the cabin, we soaked in the Finnish sauna, occasionally running outside to catch glimpses of the aurora, until finally, at midnight, we reluctantly drifted off to sleep.
