(Travel) 2025 Chunhyangje Festival, Namwon

This year marks the 95th Chunhyang Festival. From my childhood memories, I remember it starting around the 58th Chunhyang Festival. I was born and raised in Namwon, and until I transferred to a school in Seoul in middle school, I didn't experience it for many years, but it still lingers in my mind like a slightly faded photograph. Anyway, since the 2025 Chunhyang Festival was said to start on April 30, 2025, I decided to visit, both to see my parents and to attend the festival~ Let's set off cheerfully at 10 a.m.!!

Various singers and the Chunhyang Selection Contest will take place on the main stage during the event period. It used to be held at Wanwoljeong before... but since last year, they've been holding it outside.

2025 Chunhyang and Lee Mong-ryong — flower-decorated sculptures have been installed along the embankment path of the Yocheon River.

Last year, in 2024, as in the photo below, we were dressed as Chunhyang and Mongryong in hanbok~

It was so well managed along the wide area by the embankment path~ There were also lots of food event booths. It seems even bigger than last year!!! I didn't get to go around the food booths separately though~

I went to Starbucks and bought a couple of iced Americanos haha~ Since it's a day trip, I'm planning to drink them on the way back up~

For both Buddha's Birthday and Parents' Day, I went to see my parents, gave them some pocket money, had a delicious meal together, and had such a wonderful time. They asked me to stay the night, but because of work at the store I couldn't lie down and rest, so I came back up. I'll have to make time to go down again soon. My father, who has studied Korean traditional medicine his whole life, has written up materials on it over the years that now come to over 400 pages... They said about 200 more pages still need to be printed out. Then that makes over 600 pages in total. You wrote all of this one by one on the computer in Word for over 10 years. It seems like you've almost finished it now. You said you wanted to make this into a book... Even now at 83 years old, you get up at one in the morning and study like that... Why do you get up at dawn to do it? Wouldn't it be better to do it in the morning... when asked... In the mornings, my mother goes out to the field and makes me work in the field all day, haha. So she says I have no time to study. Ugh. I think I need to look into where I can get a book made. (If you have any information, please let me know.) They say that just by reading the book, you can cure most existing diseases that currently exist, without using a knife. It seems the Oriental medicine side wants this too... Later, if the book gets made, I hope college students will be able to study from it. They say they want to do it...
