🇻🇳 (Review #9) Hong Phuc Bien Claypot Rice - Vietnamese restaurant

After a late arrival on the first day and checking in, we debated — should we order delivery? Just go to sleep? Head to the Escobich bar? — and my husband said that since it's our first day, shouldn't we at least have a bowl of pho... So we just went out, passed the Monarch, and walked further up, when we spotted a local restaurant we'd never seen before. We were a bit worried about hygiene, but it seemed like there wasn't going to be another option, so we sat down at an outdoor table.

The staff seemed to mostly be family members, and there was a grandmother with real presence wearing a money belt — she seemed to be the owner. For starters, we just ordered one pho and one cha gio (fried spring roll), and of course on the first day you've got to have a Larue beer, haha.

The herbs were a bit sparse, but it was better than expected. While we were eating, the owner brought us some Vietnamese pickles as a treat — radish and carrot tossed in a sweet and tangy dressing, and it was delicious. We ate simply, but surprisingly enjoyed a tasty first taste of Da Nang ^^ The business hours listed are wrong — it seems like they're open until dawn!
