[Vietnam Ha Giang] Hidden Gem Exploration Day 2: Happiness Road, Beautiful Twin Mountains in the Mist & Dreamy Boat Trip on Nho Que River
Early Morning Departure: Exploring the Ha Giang Loop Journey At 6:30 AM, the alarm rings, much like the rhythm of a regular workday, but this time, instead of rushing to the office, we are preparing to embrace the magnificent scenery of the Ha Giang Loop! After gathering at 7:00, we will first return to the travel agency for breakfast to officially begin today's journey. We will depart from Km0 Square, traveling along the famous Happiness Road towards Dong Van. This road was built by young volunteers from all over Vietnam and serves as a vital route connecting the Northern Highlands. Along the way, the breathtaking scenery of terraced fields, winding mountain roads, and mist-shrouded landscapes will leave you mesmerized.

This spot should have offered a breathtaking view of the magnificent mountains, but the fog was so thick today that we could only catch a vague glimpse through the mist.

Next, we arrived at Heaven’s Gate. The most famous attraction here is the spectacular Twin Mountains, but unfortunately, due to the thick mist, we could only vaguely see the outlines of the mountains. However, a nearby stall happened to be roasting fragrant sweet potatoes, so our trip turned into a "roasted sweet potato eating tour"—which is a pretty special travel memory!

Nam Dam Village: Land of Herbs and Colorful Flower Seas Next, we arrived at Nam Dam Village, famous for its medicinal herbs. It is said that the local Red Yao people use herbal baths, which are highly beneficial for the body. Although we didn't have time to experience the herbal bath ourselves, the fields of interlacing golden and purple-red flowers added a touch of poetry to our journey.

At lunchtime, we enjoy local delicacies in Yên Minh town, preparing for the afternoon's highlight—a boat trip on the Nho Que River!

Arriving at Dong Van Town: An unexpectedly bustling border town After finishing the Nho Que River boat trip, we continued our journey and finally arrived at today's destination—Dong Van Town. I thought this would be a quiet mountain town, but I didn't expect it to be so lively! There are many restaurants, snack stalls, and various coffee shops here. Tonight, we tasted the local specialty—Black Chicken Hotpot. The rich broth, paired with the cold mountain night, felt extra warm. What's even more interesting is that there were locals dancing in the town square, everyone swaying to the music. The whole atmosphere was both joyful and full of energy, adding a unique cultural experience to this trip.

Closing: Looking forward to tomorrow's adventure in Lô Lô Chải village! As Day 2 comes to an end, we have traveled along the Happiness Road, journeying from terraced fields and mountain passes to rivers, experiencing the magnificence of the Nho Que River and the bustling atmosphere of Dong Van town. Tomorrow, we will head to Lô Lô Chải, the northernmost village in Vietnam, to explore this small village right on the border with China. Let's look forward to it together! 📌 Next Episode Preview: [Ha Giang, Vietnam] Hidden Gem Exploration Day 3 | Lô Lô Chải Village, H'mong King Palace, Thẩm Mã Pass overlooking magnificent mountain views Explore more Vietnam travel attractions Vietnam boasts rich natural landscapes and cultural heritage.
