My Son is located in Duy Xuyen District, Quang Nam Province, 70 km southwest of Da Nang. It is a complex of Hindu temples and towers of the ancient Champa Kingdom, built continuously from the 4th to the 13th century. Originally there were more than 70 structures; now more than 20 towers remain in various states of ruin. UNESCO listed it as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1999.

Architecture: fired red bricks laid without mortar, fitted tightly together thanks to a secret technique of the Cham people — no one yet knows exactly how the bricks stick together so firmly. Intricate carvings: statues of Shiva-Vishnu, linga-yoni, and Apsara dancers. The 1969 war and American B-52 bombing destroyed many towers — bomb craters can still be seen next to the ruins today.

Half-day tour from Da Nang: 550,000-750,000 VND/person (includes pick-up/drop-off transport + guide). Entrance ticket 150,000 VND (includes the electric car from the gate to the site). Go in the morning 7-11am to avoid the heat, and there are Apsara dance performances at 9:30 and 10:30. You should plan for 3-4 hours, which is enough to see everything.
