🐧🐧>>(Travel) Gangneung Instagram-famous jjamppong sundubu (spicy seafood noodle soup tofu stew)

My wife said this place is Instagram-famous, so while traveling around Sokcho we drove 50km to get here. Even though it was a bit past lunchtime, there was already a waiting line. You really do have to wait in line here. That day Gangneung had record-breaking cold — the daytime temperature was -10°C, ugh. There was even a heater set up, worried that people waiting outside might get cold~ It's an Instagram-famous spot, so how good could it possibly be... apparently the jjolmyeon sundubu is the popular dish. After waiting about 30 minutes, we finally got a table. I had the regular sundubu (soft tofu stew), while my wife and son had jjolmyeon sundubu (chewy noodles with soft tofu stew). As expected of an Instagram-famous place... the taste seems like something women would especially enjoy. Honestly it was just so-so. The younger people at other tables seemed to love it, while the older folks looked kind of indifferent. What I liked the least were the side dishes. Even though it's a popular place, most of the side dishes were just store-bought, ready-made ones. This is one of the things I hate the most. Honestly, I lost my appetite here and didn't even eat half of it before I put down my spoon... From that moment on, I banned myself from Instagram. Haha.
