(Travel) Sokcho Jungang Market
A must-do course when you visit Sokcho! I stopped by yesterday before heading back home after finishing my trip... It was Sunday during the Samiljeol (March 1st) holiday, so there were SO many people... We also stopped by Jungang Market and bought a ton of Manseok Dak-gangjeong (Korean fried chicken). We bought 6 boxes total, mixing spicy and non-spicy flavors half and half, 5 boxes were bought a lot by my companion, who said they'd eat them at home and also share them with coworkers at work today... lol The filling packed inside the chewy squid was savory yet light, and it made me feel good with every bite. When I ate it warm, the umami flavor really came through. I also picked up some half-dried mackerel and kodari (dried pollack). I bought them to grill and braise at home, and I already grilled the mackerel today — it was delicious~ The market was chaotic with so many people, but that lively atmosphere really made me feel like I was on a trip again. Jungang Market, a must-visit when you come to Sokcho, was as satisfying as ever! I came in January and again in February, so I bet I'll end up stopping by again next time too, right?^^
