Take a photo of the passport data page (the page with your photo) or upload an image. When both MRZ lines at the bottom are visible, your name, passport number, nationality, date of birth, expiry date and sex are read automatically.

Check the auto-filled fields and pick your stay
Compare the extracted values with your passport and correct only what is wrong. If you booked a hotel or villa on VietSpots, the accommodation address is filled from that booking; you only type the arrival date and flight number.

Copy, paste into the official portal and submit
Use the per-field copy buttons to paste the values into Vietnam's official immigration portal (prearrival.immigration.gov.vn) and submit it yourself. Show the QR code you receive at passport control.

How we handle your data
The passport image is sent only to VietSpots' own server for recognition; no external AI service is used. The image is discarded as soon as recognition finishes and is never stored. The extracted values are kept, encrypted, only if you choose to save them (auto-deleted after 30 days) and you can delete them at any time.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fill in a paper arrival card for Vietnam?
No. The digital arrival declaration (PAI) in force since 15 April 2026 is an online pre-arrival system and there is no paper arrival card. Submit on the official portal before you arrive and keep the QR code.
What is the deadline?
Submit within 72 hours before your arrival time in Vietnam. The portal does not accept earlier submissions, so fill it in 2-3 days before departure.
Does it cost anything?
The official portal (prearrival.immigration.gov.vn) is free. Any site charging a fee is not official. VietSpots auto-fill is free as well.
Does VietSpots submit it for me?
No. VietSpots is not an agency. We prepare the values from your passport and your booked accommodation; you submit on the official portal yourself.
My passport photo is not recognised.
Retake it without glare and make sure both MRZ lines at the bottom are fully visible. If it still fails, you can paste the two MRZ lines manually.
How should I write the accommodation address?
Use the hotel's registered address exactly as it is. If you booked on VietSpots, the address from your booking is filled automatically.
Do children (minors) need their own declaration?
Yes. One declaration per traveller. A parent or guardian fills in and submits a separate declaration using the child's passport.
What about transit and re-entry?
Pure transit without passing immigration is not covered. A declaration is per entry, so file a new one each time you re-enter. The health declaration is postponed indefinitely.

Vietnam's digital arrival declaration (PAI, Pre-Arrival Immigration) launched on 15 April 2026 at Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat airport (SGN) and has expanded to major airports, seaports and land borders. Submission is possible only on the official portal and is free. The portal can also read a passport photo itself; VietSpots adds the booked accommodation address and a 72-hour reminder so fewer things go wrong.
