Bánh Cuốn

Bánh cuốn is a thin steamed rice-flour roll, filled with minced pork mixed with wood ear mushrooms, usually topped with fragrant fried shallots and served together with Vietnamese pork sausage (chả lụa), bean sprouts, and fresh herbs. The dish has a light, fresh flavor with a soft, smooth texture. It's served with diluted sweet and sour fish sauce, so it's not spicy. If you prefer, you can add fresh chili or chili paste according to your taste. This is usually a breakfast dish or light snack, served hot right after steaming to keep the cake soft and fragrant.
