概述 火爐監獄(Hoa Lo Prison)位於河內市中心,鄰近還劍湖,原址曾是製作陶瓷的窯爐村落,因此得名。該監獄由法國殖民政府於1896年建造,初衷是關押反抗法國殖民統治的革命者和愛國志士。在越南戰爭期間,這裡也被用來關押被俘的美國飛行員,因而被戲稱為「河內希爾頓」。

Prison facilities and prisoner conditions At the start of the exhibition, the prison facilities and the living conditions of the prisoners were introduced. The exhibition area recreates the prison cells and displays items used by prisoners, such as prison uniforms and tableware. Notably, the prison uniforms are printed with the letters 'MC', representing 'Maison Centrale', the French name for Central Prison. Additionally, the display includes prisoners' daily necessities, such as bowls and utensils made from coconuts, allowing visitors to understand the hardships of their daily lives.



2. 越獄故事與遺物 展館中展示了一些成功越獄的相關遺物,重現了當時政治犯為爭取自由所付出的努力。例如,1945年,29名政治犯透過與普通囚犯換裝,假扮送飯人員,經由下水道成功逃脫。1951年,另一次著名的越獄事件中,囚犯們透過製作鑰匙、鋸開鐵窗等方式,成功逃離監獄。這些事件展示了囚犯們的智慧和勇氣。

3. 法國殖民與戰爭歷史 展覽聚焦於法國殖民時期的壓迫歷史,展示了當時囚犯所遭受的酷刑和不人道待遇。例如,展出了從法國運來的斷頭台,以及各種刑具,如鐐銬、棍棒和電刑器具,生動地再現了當年政治犯所遭受的殘酷待遇。此外,關於美國戰俘的展區,展示了他們在監獄中的生活物品,如吉他、西洋棋和撲克牌等,提供了不同時期監獄用途的對比。


4. Female Prisoner Area This specially established exhibition area introduces the living environment of female prisoners and their experiences in prison. It displays the cells of female prisoners, the items they used, and stories of how they maintained their revolutionary beliefs even in harsh conditions. This part of the exhibition highlights the important roles and contributions of women in the Vietnamese revolution. 5.
