The "Migration and Birth" section on the second floor is also a major highlight. Although the interview videos are simple, they profoundly convey the hardships women have endured for their families. The exhibition on the third floor lets visitors feel the resilience of Vietnamese women—from farming and fishing to weaving and pottery-making, they have taken on almost all the work, becoming an important pillar of family and society. Overall, the museum's exhibits are presented clearly and are easy to understand, with English descriptions provided for all exhibits, making it suitable for visitors interested in Vietnamese culture and history. Recommendation level: ★★★★☆ (4/5) Exhibit Area Introduction 1st Floor: The Guardianship of Mother and Child As soon as you enter the hall, you are greeted by a statue symbolizing mother and child, as if telling you that a mother is the guardian spirit of her child.

Floor 2: Stories of Birth and Migration Featured Video: Around the corner there is an interview video about many women who come to work in Hanoi. Most women set out from their hometowns in the early hours of each morning, or stay in Hanoi for a week or two before returning home, all in order to earn a better wage to support their families. The video is narrated in Vietnamese with English subtitles; the story is simple yet moving, truly heart-wrenching.

Childbirth Culture: The exhibits cover Vietnamese childbirth customs across different eras, including how newborn births were recorded, the dietary culture during postpartum confinement, and children's clothing, presenting the traditional customs of different regions of Vietnam.

3rd Floor: Family and Social Roles This exhibition floor mainly explores the daily life and family responsibilities of Vietnamese women, or simply put, "they took care of almost everything." From farming, fishing, cooking, weaving, pottery-making, and even running businesses, there was nothing they didn't do. Because Vietnam suffered from frequent wars in modern times, with many men going off to fight or dying in battle, the burden of household chores and livelihood fell onto women's shoulders — this is also one of the reasons why Vietnamese women have long been so resilient and tenacious.

Level 4: War and Women This exhibit area is the most historically significant part of the museum, showcasing women's heroic contributions during the war: "The Wall of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers": This wall is engraved with the names of mothers who lost multiple children, husbands, or grandchildren, commemorating their sacrifice and resilience. However, only after reading the introduction carefully did I realize that this is not something to be celebrated — the names on the wall represent women who lost two or more sons, their only son, or both their husband and sons at the same time. The mother with the most losses even lost 10 sons and 2 grandsons, which cannot help but make one lament the immense suffering brought by war.

Stories of Women in Wartime: The exhibit features many propaganda slogans about women joining the army, along with photos and accounts of heroines, letting visitors feel their courage and selflessness.

5th Floor: Women's Costume and Art This exhibition area displays the costumes of women from Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups, covering everything from everyday clothing to traditional wedding attire. However, since the content overlaps somewhat with the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, the visit tends to go relatively quickly. In addition, there is a fine arts gallery on the top floor, where the exhibition theme changes periodically and often features works by Vietnamese female artists.

Additional Exhibition Hall Beside the museum there is also an annexed exhibition hall, whose content is mainly related to the history of war, showcasing women's contributions and sacrifices during the war. If you have extra time, it is worth dropping by for a visit.
