The "Migration and Birth" section on the second floor is another highlight; although the interview videos are simple, they profoundly convey the hardships women have endured for their families. The exhibition on the third floor lets visitors feel the resilience of Vietnamese women — from farming and fishing to weaving and pottery, they have taken on almost all the work, becoming an essential pillar of both family and society. Overall, the museum's exhibits are presented in a clear and easy-to-understand way, with English descriptions for all exhibits, making it suitable for visitors interested in Vietnamese culture and history. Recommendation level: ★★★★☆ (4/5) Exhibition Area Introduction 1st Floor: The Guardianship of Mother and Child As soon as you enter the museum, you are greeted by a statue symbolizing a mother and child, as if telling you that a mother is her child's guardian spirit.

Second Floor: Stories of Birth and Migration Feature Video: At the corner, there is an interview video about the many women who came to Hanoi to work. Most of these women leave their hometowns before dawn every day, or stay in Hanoi for a week or two before returning home once, all in order to earn a better wage to support their families. The video is narrated in Vietnamese with English subtitles, and the stories are simple yet moving — truly heart-touching.

Childbirth Culture: The exhibits cover birth customs in Vietnam across different eras, including how the birth of a newborn was recorded, the dietary culture during the postpartum confinement period, and children's clothing, among other things, presenting the traditional customs of different regions of Vietnam.

Third Floor: Family and Social Roles This floor's exhibition primarily explores the daily lives and family responsibilities of Vietnamese women—simply put, "they handle almost everything." From agriculture, fishing, cooking, weaving, pottery-making, to even commerce, they do it all. Due to the frequent warfare in modern Vietnamese history, many men enlisted in the military or died in combat, so the burden of housework and livelihood fell on women's shoulders. This is also one of the reasons why Vietnamese women have been so resilient and indomitable for so long.

4th Floor: War and Women This exhibition area is the most historically significant part of the museum, showcasing the heroic contributions of women during the war: "The Wall of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers": This wall is engraved with the names of mothers who lost multiple children, husbands, or grandchildren, commemorating their sacrifice and resilience. However, only after carefully reading the introduction did I realize that this is not actually something to be celebrated—the names on the wall represent women who lost two or more sons, their only son, or both their husband and son at the same time. The mother with the most losses even lost 10 sons and 2 grandsons, which cannot help but make one lament the immense suffering brought by war.

Wartime Women's Stories: The exhibition showcases numerous propaganda slogans of women enlisting in the military, along with photographs and achievements of female heroes, allowing visitors to experience their courage and selflessness.

5th Floor: Women's Costumes and Art This exhibition area showcases women's costumes of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups, covering everything from everyday clothing to traditional wedding attire. However, since the content overlaps somewhat with the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, the visit here tends to go relatively quickly. In addition, there is a fine art gallery on the top floor, where the exhibition theme changes periodically and often features works by Vietnamese female artists.

Additional Exhibition Hall Next to the museum, there is a subsidiary exhibition hall with content primarily related to the history of war, showcasing the contributions and sacrifices of women during wartime. If you have extra time, it is well worth a visit.
