Tet 2021 — To Phan Thiet (written by Ho)

Due to a surge in new COVID cases, we canceled our public transport bookings... but staying home isn't great either. Let's minimize the risk and take a little trip!! We hastily contacted an acquaintance's transport company. About 3.5 hours by car (only the driver and us, the couple, inside) to the resort town of Phan Thiet. There's a Tet-rate taxi fare, but since we canceled the air tickets, it's actually cheaper. And the hotel was unbelievably cheap for the Tet period — lucky we could pick

an Indian restaurant! Super local, but the beaded curtain is cute. Local customers are inside too — we went right in without hesitation. Ordered all sorts of things from the super friendly staff

Here it comes. Tandoori chicken, vegetable curry, chapati and... lassi too. Mmm, so delicious!

Our Tet holiday in Phan Thiet turned into a do-nothing holiday. Reading e-books nonstop. Swimming in the pool nonstop. Driving wherever the mood takes us. The town's roads are better maintained and cleaner than when we came two years ago, though maybe because of COVID the shops are few and far between. Still, it's perfect for taking it easy.
