Today, the Golden Bridge has become the most iconic photo backdrop in Da Nang! This article is not simply a list of "must-visit attractions, Instead, based on my personal experience from multiple visits, I've put together a Da Nang self-guided travel guide that better matches what travelers need right now. Da Nang City Attractions (Half a day to 1 day is enough) Da Nang's downtown area isn't large. If your stamina allows, most attractions can be reached on foot or with Grab, and it's not recommended to spend more than a day here. 1️⃣ Da Nang Cathedral (Pink Church) A building left over from the French colonial period, famous for its pink exterior and rooster-shaped weathervane. The interior is only open during mass hours, so most travelers mainly take photos of the exterior — it's a spot for a brief stop.

2️⃣ Cao Dai Temple An important stronghold of Vietnam's indigenous religion "Caodaism," with architecture blending Chinese and Western elements, The "Divine Eye" inside the temple symbolizes the core belief of Caodaism. If you're interested in religious culture, you can arrange a brief stop; If your itinerary is tight, you may skip it depending on the situation.

3️⃣ Museum of Cham Sculpture An important stop for understanding the historical background of China and Vietnam, the museum houses a large collection of stone sculpture artifacts from the Champa dynasty. Those interested in history will find it very worthwhile, but if you're just on a leisurely trip, you can consider it optional.

4️⃣ Dragon Bridge & Golden Dragon Night Market Dragon Bridge is a city landmark of Da Nang On weekend nights (Fri, Sat, Sun) at 21:00, there is a fire-breathing and water-spraying show During the show the bridge deck is closed, and huge crowds of tourists gather along the riverside The night view of Dragon Bridge is quite impressive, and the surrounding area also has the Golden Dragon Night Market and a riverside walking area, making it perfect for a "casual evening stroll itinerary" without needing to rush to catch a specific time.

II. Beaches and Natural Attractions (Relaxation-Oriented) 1️⃣ Linh Ung Pagoda (Son Tra Peninsula) About a 20–30 minute drive from the city center; you can rent a motorbike or take a Grab to get there. The 67-meter-tall white jade statue of Guanyin is quite spectacular, and from up high you can also overlook the entire Da Nang coastline. When I revisited in 2024, the number of monkeys had clearly increased, so keep an eye on your belongings while taking photos.

2️⃣ Da Nang Beach (Around My Khe Beach) Da Nang's most famous beach area, with a long coastline and fine sand. Great for swimming, taking a walk, or simply sitting in a beach chair and relaxing for an afternoon. If you choose accommodation by the sea, your itinerary will naturally be much more relaxed.

Suburban Attractions: Recommendations on What to Choose (2025 Practical Notes) ✔ Marble Mountains (Ngũ Hành Sơn) The Marble Mountains The Marble Mountains are located between Da Nang and Hoi An, consisting of five limestone hills, combining caves, Buddhist temples, and viewing platforms, making it an attraction that brings together religion, culture, and natural scenery. Reasons for recommendation: · Short drive (about 20 minutes from downtown) · Can serve as a stopover point on the way to Hoi An · Feels more local compared to purely touristy spots 👉 After visiting again in 2025, it has been added to the list of "places I'd recommend to friends again

⚠ Ba Na Hills | 2025 Updated Perspective Ba Na Hills is one of Da Nang's most famous attractions, about a 50-minute drive from the city center. It boasts Vietnam's longest cable car route, and with the mist that often rolls in, it feels like a fairyland. The Golden Bridge (held up by giant hands) is Ba Na Hills' iconic sight. Recommended conclusion: Independent travel is better; joining a group tour is not really recommended Reasons: Group tour time is highly restricted, and photo time and free time are often squeezed With independent travel you can decide your own cable car time slot and avoid the crowds The cable car + park route is actually not complicated Transportation options: Renting a scooter: Suitable for those who love independent travel, but be sure to watch out for road conditions and weather. Taxi/Grab: Higher price, suitable for groups of 3-4 traveling together. Tour group: Includes admission tickets and a guide, great value for money, but the schedule is more restricted. The latest option from KLOOK offers a shuttle bus service divided into two time slots, 08:30~16:30 and 10:00~18:00, which is a great choice that balances independent travel with affordability. Price comparison: Local travel agency: 1.29 million (approx. NT$1,518 in Taiwan dollars), including tour guide, chartered car, admission tickets, and buffet), but there is a shopping itinerary. Klook: NT$1,219, ticket only; NT$1,490, ticket + buffet.

△ Extended Option | Hoi An Ancient Town As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hoi An Ancient Town is about a 40-60 minute drive from downtown Da Nang. The lantern-lined streets of the old town are full of romantic atmosphere, and it's especially enchanting at night. If time is limited, we recommend scheduling only the evening to nighttime period. Transportation options: Motorbike rental: Suitable for those who enjoy independent travel, but be mindful of road conditions and weather. Taxi/Grab: Higher cost, suitable for groups of 3-4 traveling together.

△ Extended Options | My Son Sanctuary, Hue Ancient Citadel (recommended if extra days are available) My Son Sanctuary An important religious site of the Champa Kingdom, with significant historical and cultural value. However, it is quite far away and the ruins are somewhat scattered, so the overall experience leans more toward a history-focused visit. Suitable for travelers interested in ancient civilizations; if time is limited, it can be kept as a backup option.

Hue Ancient City An ancient capital of Vietnam, with a fully intact imperial city, well worth exploring in depth. About a 2-hour drive from Da Nang, it's recommended to arrange 1–2 days on your own to visit.
