🇻🇳 Review: A 2-day trip in Dec 2024 with my parents in their 80s

Dec 2024, from parents in their 80s to elementary school kids Travel diary Day 2 Hoi An This is the full schedule for Day 2. You really can't predict the weather in December. We all woke up at 4:30 to watch the sunrise in Hoi An!!!! But then it started raining hahaha Everyone, please rest!!! But it felt like such a waste of time just lying around at the accommodation. So I took my niece/nephew and went out!!! We took a walk around Hoi An's old town.

After wandering around Old Town, I checked the clock... 6 o'clock!! I've got to go. 'Potung' - A home-style local rice noodle restaurant that only serves breakfast.

My cousin and I, three of us, ate heartily with one bowl each. On the way to our accommodation, street shots!!! (We took many photos but... the max photos per post is 99)

We arrived at the accommodation and dashed straight to the breakfast hall!!! We had already eaten pho beforehand, but we pretended to be as hungry as possible!!! With faces like we'd just come back from a workout, we succeeded once again in enjoying a delicious breakfast with the family!!!

The historic breakfast restaurant has improved a lot. There are more menu variety options than before!!

After having two hearty breakfasts, I felt so full that we sat down in the garden in front of the breakfast hall and chatted for a while!!

It'll probably be chilly for the kids in early December, but we'll watch them go morning swimming, then stroll around the Hoi An Historic Garden, totally absorbed in taking photos with the flowering trees!!

I booked Kong Spa through Happy Hour, and a vehicle came to the hotel at 10 AM. Since there were 8 of us, they sent a big vehicle. It was a walkable distance, but still, thank you Kong Spa for sending the car!

Adults get massages, but my elementary school niece gets her nails done!!! Rumor has it her manicure lasted over a month!!!

They said one of them isn't available.. It came out cheap for 7 people, right?^^ Dollars, Korean won, all payments are accepted!!!

After getting a refreshing massage, straight to the pho place right next door!!! Treating you to your very first official bowl of pho!!!

Wow, even kimchi came out!! It was a meal everyone truly enjoyed!

After finishing our meal, we're heading to Old Town ^^ We'll walk there. The weather is really nice!

We're walking along the Thu Bồn riverside, down the street in front of Cộng Cà Phê! My parents and family, for whom everything here is a first, and I strolled slowly through the old town, taking in the sights here and there.

I was worried you might get too tired from walking too far, so we stopped by Ubebe along the way for some coconut ice cream!! On the 3rd and 4th floors of Ubebe, the rooftop view is great for photos!! You definitely have to go up and check it out!

Take a short break and then keep exploring!!! We'll stroll and shop all the way to the central market on the other side, taking our time!!

There are 3-4 gold and silver shops at the end of Central Market. I asked around to exchange money, and they were all pretty similar. Still, I went to the place that gave 1000 dong more and completed the exchange!!!

Before heading to the accommodation, we can't skip street BBQ!!! My mom, who said she'd never eat street food, was the very first one to plop her bottom down on the floor seat.

Single menu skewers, 10 pieces for only 100,000 dong! Easily clear 40 skewers!!! Drinks and beer from the convenience store across the street!!!

After moving around and arriving at the accommodation, it was around 4 PM. After resting for a bit and checking the time, it was around 7 PM. Let's go sightseeing at night!!!! And everyone mobilized again!!! When asked if everyone wanted to have a meal, everyone said they weren't hungry, so we went for a walking exercise around the Bamu Temple area!!!

I went to Uncle Juan's right next to the Vamu employee guesthouse and ordered art coffee!! Egg coffee, mango smoothie, and so on. I relaxed for about an hour listening to live music!!! My parents seemed a bit tired, so I got them a buggy car and sent them back to the accommodation.

My friend and I are going to finish exploring Hoi An together, to find the relaxation we couldn't fully enjoy before. We'll stop by Chua Cau (the Japanese Covered Bridge) too.

We went to a casual French restaurant, downed some beer and duck spaghetti, and got pleasantly tipsy, and then

I went to a photo booth (Insaeng Nekeot) and took sticker photos for the first time,

Walking along the Thu Bon River in Hoi An all the way to the end of the Central Market, it was already past 11 PM. I headed back to my accommodation like that, wrapping up day 2.

Tip On the second day of taking elderly people around, we only moved within Old Town all day. Since it's a walking route without vehicle movement, don't walk too much and make the most of nearby facilities. For elderly people, the most important thing is the restroom—make sure to ask about restroom availability every 1-2 hours. If you do this, you'll be able to enjoy the tour without difficulty. And don't go past 9 PM. If it goes past 9 PM, it's 11 PM Korean time. I recommend going back early, coming out separately, and enjoying the remaining time.
