[Nha Trang Travel Diary] Day 3: I Stayed at the Island Hotel "Hon Tam Resort"♪

There's not much left of the Nha Trang trip. Day 3 is a report on staying at an island hotel off the coast of Nha Trang. Check-in at the boat dock.

The last place we stayed, "Hon Tam Resort," is an island hotel you reach from the boat pier in the southern part of Nha Trang city. Even though it's called a boat pier, the facility is as large as a hotel, and it seems check-in for multiple hotels can be done right here. It was surprisingly high-tech — they took a photo of my face at check-in. It looks like everything is cashless during your stay at the hotel ♪ Still, it's hard to believe such a luxurious facility is just for checking in (;∀;) We've arrived at Hon Tam Resort ♪

Personally, I've never thought the sea in Nha Trang was beautiful, but this place seems to be in a class of its own. An emerald green sea untouched by human hands. The only people swimming there are hotel guests, so it's truly a private beach. This is the real charm of an island hotel, isn't it?

The island where Hon Tam Resort is located isn't that big. The facilities are limited too—just a café-cum-restaurant, a spa, a small fitness club, and an outdoor pool. When I visited, the sauna was free for guests staying at the resort.

This is the outdoor pool. During your stay, the general flow will likely be something like "swim in the pool or the sea → dine at a restaurant → spa." Even if you're not interested in the spa, you might want to try the free sauna.

The rooms are quite spacious. There are lodges and villas, but even the lodge was more than comfortable enough. It has a separate bathtub, a shower room, high ceilings, and a ceiling fan. It truly captures all the charm of a tropical resort hotel! A slightly larger-than-usual supply of bottled water is provided as a matter of course, but if you're worried about running out, we recommend buying some along with snacks in Nha Trang city.

This is the restaurant. The layout with an ocean view is excellent. There are also table seats outside, forming a café space. Since you can't go into town until checkout, you'll end up having at least dinner here. To be honest, the taste was just so-so, but they do have light meals like fries and hamburgers, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of variety and was quite satisfying! The evening walk is also fun!

There's really nothing to do at night, but I'd also recommend taking a walk around the grounds. The sea breeze is cool, and since the ocean is right there, you can hear the sound of the gentle waves too. There are lights around the pool and restaurant area, so it feels safe. Would you recommend the Hon Tam Resort in Nha Trang or not?

The Hon Tam Resort introduced this time was operated a few years ago by a Vietnamese hotel brand called Mer Perle, but recently the operator has changed to the Marriott group. The lodge we stayed in this time was a little over 10,000 yen per night. Since up to 2 adults plus 1 child can stay for that price, it works out to be quite a bargain when calculated per person.   My honest impression after actually staying here is: "At this price, it's more than worth it." If the room rate were 20,000 or 30,000 yen, it might give me pause, but at this price, even just for the atmosphere alone, you can spend time that matches its value. And with that, my Nha Trang trip comes to an end. This time it was a Nha Trang trip where I didn't stay very long. Nha Trang isn't very well known among Japanese people, but personally, I like it more than Da Nang.For those who love Asia and just want to enjoy a leisurely stroll through town rather than hopping between tourist spots, choosing Nha Trang over Da Nang might surprisingly bring you more satisfaction.
