4 things to do on rainy days during Da Nang's rainy season ☔

Da Nang's rainy season usually runs from September to December, and rain is most frequent in October and November. Some days it pours all day long, but there are also many days when it rains on and off, so rather than scrapping your whole itinerary, having a few "things to do when it rains" ready will make your trip much more comfortable.

On rainy days, catching a taxi and walking around are the most annoying things, right? So in this post, I've focused on places where you can stay put at your accommodation or where they come to pick you up.

① Massage shops with pickup service — no need to get caught in the rain

During the rainy season in Da Nang, the most satisfying thing to do is definitely a massage. If you pick a place that sends a car to pick you up right at your accommodation, you won't even need an umbrella. Here are three places with pickup information posted on VietSpot.

Pickup conditions may change depending on the shop's circumstances, so when you book, please double-check your accommodation location and the number of people via chat. Many places stay open late, so if the rain stops in the evening, you can go then.

② Have your souvenirs delivered to your accommodation

Going all the way to Lotte Mart on a rainy day and lugging back coffee and dried seafood is harder than you'd think. Super Fast, a neighborhood mart, sells the souvenirs travelers love to buy (cheaper than Lotte Mart and GO! Mart, according to the store's own description), and it even carries Da Nang specialties like salted cashews and squid steamed in coconut water. If you're within a 10km radius, they'll deliver to your accommodation, and delivery hours are 08:30–17:00.

③ Sightseeing while staying out of the rain — Han Market · Large supermarkets

If you really want to see things in person before you buy, a covered market like Han Market or a large supermarket like Lotte Mart is a safe choice. There are also lots of massage shops clustered near Han Market, so it's great for heading straight to a massage after shopping.

④ Watching the rain at a café

Vietnamese cafés are truly at their best on rainy days. Just ordering a cup of coconut coffee and gazing out the window feels like enough of a trip on its own. Chain cafés are all over the city, so you can easily find one near your accommodation.

💡 Rainy Season Tips

・Sandals + a thin raincoat are more convenient than an umbrella (umbrellas are useless when the wind blows)

・Schedule outdoor activities like Ba Na Hills and island-hopping tours for the middle of your trip, and leave some flexibility so you can change the date if it rains
