Sizzling Pancake 76
Central Vietnamese bánh xèo is small, about the size of a palm, not as large as Southern bánh xèo, and Restaurant 76 at Ngu Hanh Son makes it crispy and absolutely authentic. The pancake batter is poured onto a large cast iron pan over high heat, resulting in thin, crispy edges, while the inside is filled with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts that are still piping hot and steaming. The proper way to eat it is to lay out a rice sheet, arrange fresh herbs and vegetables, place the bánh xèo on top, roll it tightly, and dip it in a thick peanut sauce — this distinctive sauce is what sets Đà Nẵng's bánh xèo apart from other regions. Order extra charcoal-grilled pork rolls and vegetable wraps to get a complete range of flavors. The restaurant was rated Bib Gourmand by MICHELIN Guide in 2025, which means delicious food at an affordable price. The evening is very crowded with customers, so it's best to arrive early around 6 PM or be prepared to wait a bit for a table.
