There are eateries that don't need to be fancy at all — as long as the food is tasty, suits your palate, and keeps that familiar flavor, that's enough to make people keep coming back again and again.

And for me, Bánh Canh O Sáu is a place like that.

I've been eating bánh canh here since I was a student all the way through starting work, so that's nearly 10 years now. What's special is that even after 10 years, I still haven't gotten tired of it 😆. Every time I crave a hot, rich bowl of Quang Tri-style bánh canh, I think of this place.

🍜 The bánh canh has a very distinctive flavor — the broth is rich and fragrant, and eating it piping hot is incredibly addictive. Besides bánh canh, the shop also serves snakehead fish congee (cháo bột cá lóc) – a simple, homestyle dish that's really satisfying to eat, especially perfect for days when you want something hot and light on the stomach.

💰 The price is also a major plus, just around 20K – 35K per bowl, so during my student days it was very budget-friendly, and even now that I'm working, it still seems great value for such a delicious meal.

The café space is rustic, clean, and quiet — not overly elaborate, but it gives off a cozy, welcoming feeling. The staff are also friendly and enthusiastic, so eating and drinking there is quite comfortable.
