Bánh Ram Huỳnh Gia – Fresh-from-the-fryer Vietnamese doughnuts, only four hours a day
1/4
Some of Da Nang's best snacks come from shops that open for a few hours and close when they sell out. Bánh Ram Huỳnh Gia on Trần Cao Vân is one of them — the fryer goes on just before 2pm and that's your window.
The shop sits at 195 Trần Cao Vân, Thanh Khê, and everything comes out of the oil as you order it: bánh ram (fried glutinous rice doughnuts) in several fillings, and xôi chiên phồng — puffed, golden sticky-rice cakes that arrive still hot. What customers keep coming back for is how clean they taste: crisp without being greasy, sweet without being sugary. The black bean filling is the one regulars chase, and it tends to sell out first, so come early if that's what you're after.
✨ Reasons why you should visit:
🍩 Bánh ram fried to order in several fillings, handed to you straight from the pot.
🌾 Puffed xôi chiên phồng, golden and hot, in a few flavours worth trying side by side.
🫘 The black bean filling is the local favourite — and the first to go.
🕐 Light and not greasy, not overly sweet, and open every afternoon from 13:45 to 17:45.
