Cù Lao Chàm green boat day: take a day off to the island

Translated from Vietnamese
Vịnh biển với nước xanh ngọc và thuyền neo — vibe Cù Lao Chàm ngoài khơi Hội An

Cu Lao Cham is an archipelago of 8 islands located about 15 km from Cua Dai coast (Hoi An). From Da Nang, it takes 45 minutes by car to reach the Cua Dai boat pier, and from there another 25 minutes by speedboat or 90 minutes by wooden boat to reach the island. The island has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve since 2009.

Cù Lao Chàm is famous for its single-use plastic ban policy — no plastic water bottles, no plastic bags, no plastic straws. Visitors must bring their own water bottle or use the resort's glass bottles. Thanks to this, the sea around the island stays clear and emerald-blue, and you can see coral reefs at a depth of 3–5m.

Main activities: snorkeling to see coral reefs (500,000–800,000₫/tour), swimming at Chồng Beach and Ông Beach, and enjoying seafood at the island's seafood market. A full-package 1-day Da Nang → Cu Lao Cham tour costs 850,000–1,100,000₫. Remember to book in advance — tours get fully booked in summer.

🌊 Best Time to Visit: March to September · Avoid October–February (rough seas, boats don't operate)
