Nai Communal House: a 300-year-old An Hai relic, dedicated to Tran Nhan Trung

Nai Communal House is located in An Hai Dong Ward, Son Tra District — 3 km from the center of Da Nang. Built around 1720 (during the era of Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu), it is the oldest communal house in the An Hai area, dedicated to the Tutelary Deity Tran Nhan Trung — a general of the Nguyen Dynasty who contributed to the development of the Son Tra coastal region.
The architecture features a main hall with three compartments and a yin-yang tiled roof, supported by eight ancient ironwood columns over 300 years old, meticulously carved with dragons, phoenixes, and the four sacred animals. The central altar honors the Tutelary Deity (Thành Hoàng), while the two side altars are dedicated to Lady Ngoc and Mr. Cai Dong. In the courtyard, an ancient stone stele commemorates the merits of the ancestors.
The communal house is open daily for free. Visit during the festival (the 10th day of the 2nd lunar month) to experience traditional rituals, Central Vietnamese opera, and boat racing on the Han River. You can also stroll along the Son Tra riverbank (500m away) and enjoy seafood on Tran Nhan Tong street.
