Phu Quoc Bike Trip: A Hammock Break (written by Ho)
After filling up our stomachs at the seaside restaurant, all that's left is to head home. Since we're out for a motorbike ride, we decided to go back by a different road than the one we came on. "Four years ago this road didn't even exist..." my husband Sei smiles as he keeps the bike rolling steadily along. Because it's nice and smooth with no bumps, riding on the back is easy and comfortable for me too! I'm feeling the wind. Only... now that they've paved it, there are motorbikes and trucks zooming and roaring past. There aren't any traffic lights either, so it feels great~!! But, it's also a little scary!!

Of course, overloaded motorbikes are running here in Phu Quoc too. Well, it's not THAT overloaded, but it's that style of riding with just one hand resting on the load. What's being carried is probably a net for catching fish, maybe? The little bike puttering along is so cute. Since we'd been riding since before 8 in the morning, this around-fifty couple naturally started to feel worn out. "Let's take a little break~" we thought, so we looked for a shop, but the Wi-Fi was hard to connect to, and around 2 p.m. the shops happen to be closed, or rather... It seems the northern and eastern parts of Phu Quoc are still undeveloped and there aren't many shops yet. When we finally went into a place that looked like a café... the rider's favorite... a hammock~~

The strong wind was buffeting us, so the hammock swayed back and forth and I slept like a log. The weather wasn't great, but there were several thatched-roof huts along the coast. What a hidden gem~~~

There was even a handmade swing, and you can swing to your heart's content! Apart from us, there was just one group of Vietnamese people. Sipping coffee and juice, we chatted in a relaxed, leisurely way. Such a truly luxurious time.

From the fallen coconut, a new sprout was growing. I thought "I want to take it home...", but my husband Sei saw right through me. "It'll grow into a huge tree in no time...," he said. Right, right — we live in an apartment complex, lol. Someday I want to live in a detached house with coconut trees planted in the yard... Migration Life Ranking
