Journey to Hoàng Su Phì (To Vietnam's Terraced Rice Fields) 6 — A Simple Breakfast at the Bungalow

It seems the terraced rice fields of Hoàng Su Phì in Hà Giang Province are registered as a national heritage site of Vietnam lol. I only found out afterward — a trip taken with no research at all, just dashing off, pretty much running on pure impulse lol

In the morning, I wake up to the sound of thunder echoing in the distance, the crowing of roosters, and the calls of what seem to be mountain birds. The weather isn't great, but the clouds move quickly and it feels mysterious. Depending on the temperature, you can even enjoy watching the sea of clouds drift over the terraced rice fields. My whole body aches after 10 hours on the bike, but maybe thanks to soaking in the medicinal herbal bath, it's a rather pleasant kind of tiredness. And I'm hungry too. I'd been told that breakfast would be simple, and I thought, well, that's just how mountain lodges are~ but... This turned out to be such a delightful breakfast. They said there were two kinds, and asked, "Which would you like, 'noodles' or 'crepes'?" So we ordered one of each, haha. The noodles were instant ramen with leafy greens and a rolled omelet, served with chili oil stir-fry and lime as condiments. Very Vietnamese. You season it however you like yourself.

Thin rice-flour crepes... a whole bunch of these come out, so you can customize them however you like lol! They come with honey and condensed milk.

Breakfast with Vietnamese coffee. To start, keep it simple—just drizzle on some honey, then cut it and stack it up like a crepe from Doutor to enjoy.

The dough itself is just slightly sweet. The chewy dough is so good it feels like you could keep eating sheet after sheet... And look, there's delicious coffee right in front of you too

Spread a thin layer of condensed milk over the whole surface, then let bitter Vietnamese coffee fall over it in little drops here and there.

A little more please... and so on. And then the banana came too

The banana omelette too. Personally, the Vietnamese coffee crepe is seriously delicious! I wonder if I can eat it in Ho Chi Minh City too lol Relocation Life Ranking
