Hotel by the rice fields in Hoi An

During our summer vacation, my family went to Hoi An and stayed at the Lasenta Boutique Hotel Hoi An. I booked in advance before going because I liked that the hotel's main draw was the view over a wide rice paddy right in front. When I first arrived at the reception desk, I saw a painting of lotus leaves, so I thought Lasenta might be a combination of 'lá sen ta' (our lotus leaf) — I wonder if that's right?

My room may not have a view of the rice fields from any window, but if you want to enjoy the scenery, just head up to the infinity pool where you can swim and take in the vast, endless expanse of green rice fields to your heart's content. If you happen to catch the rice harvest season, gazing at that golden-yellow color is truly a treat for the eyes. If you really care about enjoying this scenery, you definitely need to find out beforehand whether you'll arrive when the rice fields are still growing or if they've already been harvested and you'll just see empty land, okay?

The hotel is located on the edge of the center, so it's peaceful and the surroundings aren't crowded or noisy. My room wasn't a premium type, but I felt the quality matched the price, it was clean, and it had an airy balcony overlooking a beautiful courtyard below.

The bikes are free, so it's really nice to cycle around the fields or into the old quarter in the morning, since the old quarter is only about a 10-minute bike ride away.

Breakfast comes with quite a variety of dishes to choose from, and I also noticed there's a play room for children around 5 years old and under.
