The deserted beaches at the foot of Son Tra peninsula
When people mention Da Nang's beaches, most think of My Khe — long, wide, crowded, with plenty of services. But following the coastal road around Son Tra Peninsula, there's also a series of small, hidden beaches with far fewer people.

Common features of these beaches: yellow sand, clearer water than the central area because there are fewer boats, and almost no amenities — no beach chairs, no floats, and mostly no lifeguard services.
That's both what makes it wonderful and what you need to be careful about. Being empty means that if something happens, no one is nearby. So go with two or more people, don't swim too far out, and absolutely do not go into the water after drinking beer.

A few practical notes:
• Season: the best time is around April to August, when the sea is calm. From September onward, the waves get big and rip currents are common — during that season, you should swim at beaches with lifeguards. • Downhill path: several sections require walking downhill on dirt roads which become slippery after rain. Flip-flops are not suitable. • No shops: bring water, light snacks, and take your trash with you. On the peninsula, there aren't as many trash bins as you'll find in the city. • Some beaches belong to resort areas and are not open to outside guests — if you see a sign or barrier, please turn back and don't try to force your way in.
The best time to go is early morning: it's cool, the water is calm, and on many days you'll have the whole beach to yourself. You can pair it with a trip up to Linh Ung Pagoda to make it a full, tidy outing.
