Con Ga Church: a 100-year-old pink gothic cathedral in the heart of Da Nang

Con Ga Church (officially: Da Nang Cathedral) was built in 1923 by the French priest Louis Vallet. It's called "Con Ga" (Rooster) because on top of the tower there is a rooster statue in place of a cross — a symbol of Peter (Phêrô) in Christianity.

French Gothic architecture with soft powder-pink walls, rose windows, and a 70m-tall bell tower that can be seen from all over the city center. Inside: 20 stained glass windows depicting Biblical scenes, 100-year-old wooden chairs, and an altar adorned with Italian mosaic tiles. We still hold Sunday services at 5:15, 6:30, 8:00, 15:30, and 17:00.

No ticket needed — completely free and open daily from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Best to visit between 7:00-8:00 AM when sunlight filters through the stained glass windows, creating a magical, ethereal atmosphere. Photography is welcome outside, but not permitted inside. Please dress modestly and maintain silence if a ceremony is in progress.
