Pre-Trip Preparation: Accommodation Choices and Transportation Overview ✅ Accommodation tip: Staying in the Sultanahmet area is the most convenient choice. Istanbul's major sightseeing spots are mostly concentrated in the old city (Sultanahmet), such as the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and Hagia Sophia, all of which can be reached on foot — making it perfect for travelers on a two-day trip. This time we stayed at the Zeyn Otel Istanbul, which cost 4,200 NTD per night, a pretty affordable option in this area. The most recommendable thing about it was the staff's friendly attitude — they were enthusiastic about introducing all the nearby attractions.

In Istanbul and Cappadocia, a 16-seater van usually costs 80–120 EUR per trip. The hotel we used this time offered a 4-seater for 45 EUR. You can buy an Istanbulkart (Istanbul transit card, empty card costs 130 lira and can be shared among several people) in the city, which works on the metro, buses, and ferries, offering a 40% discount off the regular fare. We took the round-trip ticket, which cost about NT$108. A popular option here is the Bosphorus cruise experience, which lasts about an hour and a half and costs 7 euros (via Get Your Guide).
