Based on our own trip, this article puts together the most essential two-day itinerary, along with transportation and ticket-purchasing tips, so you can plan smoothly and avoid any pitfalls! 1. Trip Preparation: Accommodation Choices and Transportation Overview ✅ Accommodation Suggestion: Choose Sultanahmet Area as the Most Convenient Option Istanbul's main tourist attractions are concentrated in the Old City (Sultanahmet), such as the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia Mosque, and more, all within walking distance, making it very suitable for two-day visitors. We stayed at Zeyn Otel Istanbul this time, with nightly rates of 4,200 NTD, which is a budget-friendly choice for the area. Most notably recommended is the warm and friendly attitude of their service staff, who enthusiastically introduce all the surrounding attractions.

View larger map ✅ Transportation: Recommend airport transfer + credit card combined with subway use This time, we pre-booked a transfer car from the airport to the city, saving us the hassle of hauling luggage around. In Istanbul and Cappadocia, a 16-seater usually costs 80～120 EUR per trip. This time, the hotel offered a 4-person option for 45EUR. You can purchase Istanbulkart (Istanbul transportation card, blank card costs 130 lira, can be shared by multiple people) in the city, applicable for subways, buses, and ferries, and receive a 40% discount on original fares. If your itinerary is concentrated in the old city, Istanbulkart isn't necessary, as most city trams and ferries support credit card contactless payment, allowing short-term visitors to use them flexibly. 2. A popular activity here is the Bosphorus cruise experience, which lasts 1.5 hours and costs 7 euros (Get Your Guide); we didn't have enough time back then, so we didn't choose this option.
