Korean restaurant, Chonchon Kim
Here's my review after visiting **Chon Chon Kim**, the most famous spot for Vietnamese home-style cooking in Nha Trang! Maybe because it's such a must-visit course for Koreans, they have really well-made Korean menus right from the entrance, so ordering was easy. I also loved the interior, which had a clean, café-like atmosphere. (The 1st and 2nd floors are open-air with the windows left open, so they can get a bit hot — my tip is to go up to the 3rd floor if you want to enjoy the air conditioning!) We ordered the combo of their most famous **braised pork ribs**, **garlic butter grilled shrimp**, and the not-to-be-missed **morning glory**. The braised pork ribs tasted exactly like our sweet-and-savory Korean galbi-jjim, so it was a rice-stealer that everyone loves regardless of taste, and the grilled shrimp had a rich garlic aroma that made it a real delicacy. Overall the seasoning was slightly on the salty side, so it went perfectly with rice. What I especially loved is that, while at other restaurants you have to order rice separately, here they just give you **a really generous serving of white rice in a ceramic pot as a complimentary service**. If you run out, they'll refill it too — it almost feels like unlimited refills, so it's really great value. Compared to Madam Phuong or other clean Korean and Vietnamese restaurants, the prices are also very reasonable. The portion for each menu item isn't huge, so even if you go as a couple, I recommend easily ordering about 3–4 dishes to try a bit of everything. I'd recommend it as a fail-proof, safe restaurant for those who aren't good with Vietnam's distinctive spice aromas, or for when you want to take your parents and try local food!
