🇨🇳The best lamb skewers of my life, tasted in Yanji!!

A famous skewer restaurant in China, 丰茂烤串 (Fengmao Kaochuan) = Fengmao Lamb Skewers, is the lamb skewer restaurant we visited on our recent trip to Baekdu Mountain. We left this place extremely, extremely satisfied. This spot has been selected as the top skewer restaurant for seven consecutive years, from 2017 to 2023, on Dazhong Dianping (大众点评), China's famous restaurant review platform. It's a specialty lamb skewer restaurant. Based on the philosophy that "lamb tastes best when you skewer it yourself," it's a brand that emphasizes fresh ingredients, they say. The lamb skewers I ate in Yanji were so fresh that there was no smell at all, and they were truly delicious~~~

When I entered, I was amazed at how ~very spacious the interior was and how modern the decor felt. The kitchen was hygienic and clearly visible, which made me feel it was a restaurant with real confidence in itself. There's also a self-serve bar, so you can help yourself to as many extra ingredients as you like.

I've been to a few lamb skewer restaurants in Korea since then too... but I haven't found many places that match this one for interior and convenience~ The tables are wide and the small plates are big too~~ They give you individually packaged seasoning~ And even better, that lamb skewer rack has adjustable height, which was such a nice touch~~~

There's some delicious snacks to go with drinks!!! It would be a shame to skip the alcohol~~ Grilling six-clove garlic together with it makes it even more delicious~~

Not just the skewered lamb — the enoki mushroom rolls and cold noodles were also delicious~~ Even the palate-cleansing candy at the end was tasty!! There were so many customers too! I guess it really is a popular spot in China!! Turns out there's a branch in Shanghai too, I looked it up.

I think there used to be one in Korea too... I'm not sure if it's still operating, but I see one in Siheung on Naver... One more thing I liked here!! It was connected so you could throw trash right into it at the table, which was convenient and nice ~~

I saw the post that Kkokkokko shared today, and it brought back old memories, so I jotted down a few thoughts too. Haha. Writing about it made me want to eat it again, haha.
