First Impression of Nha Trang | Sunshine, Beaches and Leisurely Atmosphere

Nha Trang (Nha Trang) is located in southern Vietnam and is a famous seaside holiday destination known for its clear azure waters, fine sandy beaches, and abundant water activities. It is listed as one of the 29 most beautiful beaches in the world and is also called the Oriental Maldives. During this four-day trip to Nha Trang, we deeply explored this beautiful coastal city, experienced mud baths, visited the famous Vinpearl Resort, and tasted local seafood delicacies. Nha Trang Transportation and Accommodation Area Selection

Transportation: There are currently no direct domestic flights to Nha Trang, so you can transfer through Ho Chi Minh City Airport. Nha Trang Airport (Cam Ranh International Airport) is about a 40-minute drive from the city center, and you can take a taxi or book a shuttle to your hotel. Accommodation Areas: Beachfront (near Tran Phu Beach): The most popular area among tourists, with hotels often offering unbeatable sea views, such as InterContinental Nha Trang. City area: Nha Trang's local residential hub, offering diverse price options, perfect for budget-conscious travelers. Vinpearl Island: A premium resort experience with a private beach and luxurious facilities — we recommend Vinpearl Resort Nha Trang. Suggested itinerary (4 days) Day 1: Arrival, stroll along the beach, and soak in Nha Trang's laid-back vibe We arrived at Nha Trang late in the evening, so we first found a bar near the hotel to have a meal. After finishing, we took a walk on the nearby beach to experience the leisurely atmosphere of this city. I have to say, the sand in Nha Trang is truly very fine, and it feels very comfortable to walk on.

Day 2: Po Nagar Cham Towers, mud bath, then check into Vinpearl Resort Po Nagar Cham Towers Po Nagar Towers are temples from the ancient Champa Kingdom. Champa was an ancient kingdom established by the Cham people in central Vietnam, with major heritage sites in Vietnam located at My Son Holy Land and Nha Trang. After the 17th century, the Vietnamese occupied Champa, seized Po Nagar Towers, and called it the Thien Y Saint Mother Temple. This was because the Vietnamese called the Po Nagar Goddess the Thien Y Saint Mother. The Champa ruins in Nha Trang are considerably smaller in scale compared to My Son Holy Land and are in an open-air space. Because of its high-altitude location, the scenery is quite beautiful.

Thap Ba Mud Bath Nha Trang is famous for its mud baths, and there are mainly two options: Thap Ba Hot Spring Center: The oldest and most established mud bath center in the area, with affordable prices and an authentic experience. I-Resort: A more upscale option, with a more comfortable environment and private mud bath pools also available. This time we chose Thap Ba Hot Spring Center, to enjoy a full mud bath and mineral spring therapy experience: Mud Bath: Soak in a warm mud pool with thick, viscous mud texture, said to have skin-beautifying effects and promote blood circulation. It feels slippery when you first enter the pool, but once you get used to it, it feels extremely relaxing. Mineral Water Pool: After rinsing off the mud, soak in the hot spring pool and enjoy the warm flowing water, which is very comfortable. Facility Experience: Besides the mud bath, there is also a swimming pool and a waterfall massage pool here, allowing you to completely relax your body and mind. Helpful Reminder: Remember to bring a swimsuit, and valuables should be stored in a locker to avoid having to go back and forth frequently.

Pearl Island Vinpearl Resort Vinpearl is the most famous resort destination in Nha Trang. This island boasts luxury hotels, a water park, a large amusement park, a zoo, and even a golf course. Cable Car Experience: Take the world's longest cross-sea cable car from Nha Trang city to Pearl Island, enjoying magnificent sea views along the way. Water Park and Amusement Facilities: The water slides here are thrilling, and there's a lazy river for leisurely floating, perfect for families and friends to enjoy together. Pearl Island Beach: Fewer crowds, fine sand, clear water, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery of sea and sky merging into one. Dining and Rest Areas: There are various restaurants to choose from on the island, but prices are higher; it's recommended to prepare snacks or water in advance. Night Light Show: In the evening, the island features a spectacular water dance light show; the lights are synchronized with music, creating an excellent atmosphere.

Day 3: Vinpearl Relaxation Day, Return to Nha Trang City Use the hotel swimming pool facilities and fitness room, relax on the beach in the afternoon, and leave Vinpearl as evening approaches.

Night Stroll Around the City Near Agarwood Tower: There are many street vendors where you can try Vietnamese snacks. Night Market Exploration: Although we didn't choose to eat at the night market, we did browse the stalls and experience the local atmosphere. Massage and Relaxation: Before ending our trip, we found a massage shop to relieve travel fatigue. Beach Bar Drinks: Finally, we found a bar next to the beach to have drinks and relax, enjoying the gentle breeze and music of Nha Trang at night.

Day 4: Visit Nha Trang Cathedral and Long Son Pagoda, return journey Nha Trang Cathedral: A Gothic stone-brick building, with a strikingly eye-catching spire and bell tower design. The interior is decorated with stained glass, and when sunlight streams in, it becomes dazzlingly beautiful, creating a sacred atmosphere.

Long Son Pagoda: This temple is famous for its huge white Buddha statue. After climbing up to the temple, you can overlook the entire Nha Trang city, and it's especially great for photos during early morning and dusk.

Nha Trang Travel Tips Best time to travel: Nha Trang has a warm climate all year round, with average temperatures ranging from a low of 22°C to a high of about 32°C. The best months for travel are January to August, when it's not too hot and humid, rainfall is low, and the waves aren't too rough, making it great for water activities. Pre-trip preparation: Sun protection items (sunscreen, sunglasses, hat) are essential to avoid sunburn. Currency exchange: You can exchange for Vietnamese Dong (VND) in Ho Chi Minh City beforehand, or exchange it locally at jewelry shops, though the exchange rate there is usually less favorable. Conclusion Nha Trang's beach ranks in the top three beaches I've visited. Unlike Phu Quoc Island, the prices here are more aligned with local Vietnam, and besides the beach, it also features mud baths and Cham heritage sites. Before the pandemic, Nha Trang was especially a vacation hotspot for Russians, with direct flights from Russia, and when I went, I encountered plenty of Russian tourists (laughs). If you get the chance, you must arrange a visit to Nha Trang, Vietnam's third-ranked honeymoon destination according to Vietnamese voters.
