Da Nang travel review ✈️ Hoi An local hidden gem, Ok Ken!

Trip for the two of us 2025.08.30~09.04 ✈️ We finally made it to the Okken we'd been looking forward to 😁 The place that reminded us of the true taste of turban shells! We missed it so much 🤭 As expected from a great restaurant, it was completely full~ Luckily two seats opened up for us and we ordered from the menu like pros, one after another! Butter garlic turban shells Grilled scallops with scallion oil Grilled shrimp Razor clams with morning glory Stir-fried bullet squid Banh mi bread x1 I ordered beer 2 like this, but what actually came out was a total mess lol. It was basically the same dish, just with a different sauce 🤣 Instead of scallion oil there was cheese scallop, instead of butter garlic there was lemongrass whelk, the shrimp seemed to have been completely forgotten with no word about it, and why were there two loaves of bread?😅 I get that mistakes can happen when you're busy and swamped, but this wasn't just one mistake... Come on!! Isn't this just too much?😤 Normally I would've asked them to change it, but my friend's heart is as wide as the Pacific Ocean, so when she just said let's eat it as is, being the obedient one, I just went ahead and ate it too 😁 Of course, for a moment I turned into a rapper~ grumbling, grumbling under my breath. I can eat everything else, but lemongrass, you I absolutely cannot eat!!! Even when I go to Thailand, I eat everything else just fine, but I can't eat Tom Yum Goong 😭 I just don't like the taste of lemongrass 😂 I had no choice but to talk to the staff and got a new one, but this one's supposed to be butter garlic — so why is there corn in it?? It was a total mess of a corn-butter mix-up. I'm done with this place now... 👋
