Sinpo Market Chongyoubing (Green Onion Pancake)

Trips to the market are always fun!! We went to the market over the weekend. There are actually four markets in our neighborhood, but since we always go to the same one and got a bit tired of it, we went to one a little further away!! Sinpo Market, famous for its dakgangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken)!! We didn't go there to buy dakgangjeong though. Just to look around!! Haha.

I walked around the market a couple of times and got hungry, so I stood in the long line at a famous dumpling shop, thinking I'd just eat some dumplings... but as the line kept shrinking, I somehow didn't feel that into the dumplings anymore. So I turned around, and there was something that looked really delicious!!! I spotted it being grilled!!!! I immediately went to the shop behind it. It's a Chinese-style scallion pancake known as cong you bing (蔥油餅).

There was a customer waiting to buy this food. Seems like a regular. The customer said, "This food is only sold on weekends." They don't sell it on weekdays! So I wanted to try it even more!!! It's a pancake with green onions in it..! Hehe

Just a light, plain flour dough tangled with green onions for that chewy texture!!! The end!!
