Review of hiking Marble Mountain (Ngũ Hành Sơn) in Da Nang on foot! Exploring caves with that Stephen Chow Journey to the West vibe ⛰️🪨

I visited Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son), one of the must-visit spots in Da Nang! We didn't take the elevator and instead walked up slowly on our own. Climbing along the stone steps and hills let us take in the surrounding scenery and nature up close, which was really nice, but the slope is quite steep and the steps can be slippery, so we ended up sweating a lot more than expected. If your parents are elderly or your children are young, I highly recommend taking the elevator up! Saving your energy on the way up means you can comfortably explore all the way to the back of the cave. 🛗 The highlight of Wuxing Mountain was definitely the massive cave and the Buddha statues inside. A cave with that Journey to the West vibe: watching the light mysteriously pour down through the crack in the ceiling at Hoa Xuyen Khong (Hoàn cave), I couldn't help but think of iconic scenes from Stephen Chow's <A Chinese Odyssey>. Am I the only one who feels that? Haha. That distinctive, overwhelming, mysterious atmosphere was totally my thing. 洞 Buddhist temples & stupas: Wandering around the old, weathered stupas and temples nestled halfway up the mountain was a great way to unwind in a peaceful, quiet atmosphere. Intricate carvings: True to its reputation as a marble mountain, it was so much fun to look at the Buddha statues and carvings etched throughout the caves. The stairs inside the caves are also pretty steep, so comfortable sneakers are a must! It was a course where I truly felt the nature of Da Nang amid a mysterious atmosphere. 😊
