(Travel) Best gunsan-jjamppong restaurant, Binhaewon 🥢

This is one of Gunsan's top 3 jjamppong restaurants! Located in a culturally-designated building with over 70 years of history, this is Binhaewon, an authentic Chinese restaurant!! Thanks to a recommendation and reservation from some wonderful companions in Gunsan, we zipped right into the restaurant while others were waiting. The atmosphere inside felt just like being in China? (Well, I've never actually been to China, haha...) Something about it felt oddly familiar, so I looked it up, and it turns out this was a filming location for the movie 'Tazza' and the drama 'Crash Landing on You'. It seems that's why. Besides that, Binhaewon has also been featured on quite a few informational TV programs.

It's been such a long time since I've seen a round rotating table! I think this kind of table setting is really great when a group of people get together, don't you agree? Being able to look at each other's faces all around and chat away — isn't that just the best table setting? Thanks to our menu-master friends who really know their food, we got to enjoy a nice variety of delicious dishes. For someone like me who thinks all you need in Chinese cuisine is sweet and sour pork, there were even dishes I'd never seen before, but they were so light and tasty that I ate every last bite!

For the finishing touch of the course meal, I was planning to end with jjamppong and jjajang, but they said Binhaewon's signature menu is mul-jjajang (jjajang in soup). Since I went all the way to Gunsan, how could I not try it? Haha. If Incheon has white jjajang, then Gunsan has mul-jjajang!! Having tried it... Gunsan's mul-jjajang wins! 👍 It wasn't salty and the seasoning was just right, so it was great for slurping down. It'd be a shame to enjoy delicious food without a little alcohol, right? Everyone picked their favorite drink to cool off, and cheers! 🍻 Even though it was a short time, thanks to the stylish Gunsan crew who guided us so thoughtfully, we could spend it fully and meaningfully. It was such a fun and happy time. The best 👍
