There are several well-known tourist spots in Wando, and one of them is Jangdo, a small island where the Cheonghaejin historic site is located. It's an island you could only get to by walking during low tide, or by taking a raft or boat... There's a wooden footbridge (mokgyo) built here, so it's a place you walk into. But apparently, since a little while ago, the wooden bridge leading to Jangdo Island has been closed off to foot traffic due to the risk of collapse from corrosion and damage. They say you can walk across when the water recedes... I wanted to cross the bridge and take in the view of Jangdo Island, so that was a bit disappointing. I threw stones into the sea a few times, and enjoyed a leisurely look around the quiet neighborhood and watching the cats. I got to see the beautiful glittering sea and took a little rest there. Since it's far away, I'm not sure when I'll be able to visit again, but if you're planning a trip to the Wando area, try visiting during low tide.
