📦 Shipping packages to Korea after shopping at Han Market in Da Nang: rates and how to send them

Had a blast shopping at Han Market… but what if your suitcase won't close? 😱

If you have too much luggage on your way home, you can also ship it to Korea by parcel delivery!

Today, I've put together a summary of the fees, how to apply, and how long it takes to arrive.

🛍️ Han Market Reference Prices by Item

✔️ Prices aren't fixed, so it's easier to bargain by showing the amount on a calculator

(As of 2026, it varies by store)

📮 How to Submit

① Choose Korea Post EMS or an international courier company run by Koreans

② Bring the box unsealed (so the contents can be checked)

③ Enter the recipient's information accurately in English

④ Fill out a customs declaration form with the quantity and value of each item written in English

⑤ Bring the purchase receipt for expensive items

💳 3 things to check before you pay

✔️ Written quote: Get a quote that lists the weight and the fee

✔️ Receipt & tracking number: You'll definitely need these for tracking your delivery and reporting a lost package

✔️ Agree on extra charges: Ask them to let you know in advance if any additional fees, such as fuel surcharges, will be added, and pay only after confirming!

💰 How much does it cost? (Based on Vietnam EMS)

📏 Be sure to calculate the volumetric weight too!

Width × Length × Height (cm) ÷ 6,000 (÷5,000 depending on the carrier)

👉 We compare it with the actual weight and charge based on whichever is heavier

e.g.) A 50×40×30cm box = calculated as 10kg

✔️ For light clothes and rattan bags, choose a box that fits just right!

🗓️ When can I receive it?

✔️ EMS: Approx. 5–10 business days

✔️ Express shipping such as DHL: about 2–4 business days (it's expensive)

※ This estimated schedule does not include weekends, public holidays, or customs clearance delays.

🛡️ What compensation do I get if it's lost?

✔️ Under Vietnam Post standards, lost airmail parcels are compensated up to a limit of approximately 940,000–5,510,000 VND

✔️ Only the sender can request compensation, and it must be requested within 6 months of the standard delivery date

✔️ For expensive items, please inquire separately about insurance coverage

⚠️ Please be sure to know this

❗ Just because you bought it doesn't mean you can ship all of it.

Even if you bought it duty-free or the store received the parcel for you, it still has to go through Korean customs clearance and quarantine separately.

❌ Processed meat products such as beef jerky, and fresh fruit: Not allowed to be brought in

❌ Strong-smelling foods like fish sauce and dried squid, liquids, and batteries: EMS will refuse to accept them

✔️ Items received by courier are duty-free up to USD 150 (separate from the USD 800 limit for personal carry-on items)
