Da Nang
Dragon Head
Translated from Korean
As it's the symbol of Da Nang, I went to see the night view after dark, and the whole bridge kept changing colors with dazzling lights, so it was really lovely to stroll along the riverside and take it all in. The fire show and water show that I was looking forward to the most are only held on weekend (Saturday and Sunday) nights, exactly at 9 PM sharp, so you absolutely must check the day and time in advance before you go. When it breathes fire from the dragon's head, it's so thrilling you can feel the heat rush over you, and then it shoots out water like a cannon — if the wind blows you can get drenched, so a raincoat or umbrella is a must. The bridge itself gets so crowded and chaotic that I'd rather recommend finding a comfortable seat at a riverside cafe or near the pier over toward My Khe Beach, where you can get a good view of the dragon's head. After the show ends, you can head straight over to the nearby Son Tra Night Market to enjoy delicious street food and even do some souvenir shopping — it makes for a perfect evening course that ties it all together.
