🇻🇳Da Nang trip with three generations of mother and daughters_ When shopping for fruits, please check the prices by country of origin before buying

I wanted to eat mangosteens, so I went around looking here and there at the local market. The price of mangosteens was set at around 100,000 to 120,000 dong per 1kg. I decided on one of the stalls and started negotiating the price to make a purchase. Since I was moving to Hoi An before checking into my lodging... and I wanted to eat them right away... and only wanted to buy a little... I tried to buy 500g worth for 100,000 dong. I was trying to buy the fresher-looking one, but it was priced higher. When I asked why there was a price difference, I was told it was because they came from different countries of origin. The more expensive one was from Vietnam, and the cheaper one was from Thailand. In other words, it's like the difference between domestic and imported products... Given the choice, I wanted to eat the Vietnamese one since it felt more like the "local" option. It's not that the Thai one is bad, but... If you don't ask specific detailed questions, they won't tell you upfront that it's an imported product... or the reason why the price is different..
