🐿 Haengju Wharf, a place where you can feel a sense of leisure in the heart of the city

A peaceful refuge nestled within the metropolitan area, with pockets of serene leisure hidden throughout. I'd driven past Haengju Fortress countless times, but this was my first time actually visiting it. Haengju Ferry Terminal—With the opening of Haengju Bridge in 1978, the ferries disappeared and the location lost its original purpose as a ferry crossing. Now only a sign reading 'Haengju Ferry Terminal' remains. This area is a brackish water zone where freshwater and saltwater meet, and it has served as a vital transportation hub and a prime fishing ground since ancient times. Even now, I could see that fishermen from Goyang City continue to work their boats here.

It's also a really nice place to take a leisurely walk while looking out at the Han River and enjoying the breeze off the water. Just beyond Gaehwasan Mountain right in front, you can also see planes taking off from Gimpo Airport, which is quite a sight. When the sun starts to set, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset too, which I really like. Even though the sky was cloudy, the higher sky was still blue, so I got to welcome a lovely autumn, which made me happy. I'd recommend this as a great place for a walk.
