It was a day spent leisurely strolling through the heart of Hanoi, enjoying the landmarks and the unique atmosphere of its alleys. While Da Nang feels like a well-organized and polished resort destination, Hanoi had a special charm—it felt a bit less developed than Da Nang, yet every alley was steeped in an intense, raw local vibe. The first place I visited was St. Joseph's Cathedral. I'm not Catholic, but when traveling domestically, I really love the quiet and unique atmosphere that cathedrals have. The St. Joseph Cathedral I encountered abroad also had a captivating charm, with its grand exterior that clearly shows the traces of time, making me gaze at it for quite a while. It was so lovely to enjoy the view of the cathedral with a refreshing cup of coffee from nearby. ☕️ Alleyway strolls and local shops: There were so many charming souvenir shops and clothing stores tucked away in the alleys where motorcycles and people constantly pass by, making it a lot of fun to explore. Small street foods: While walking, I enjoyed some light snacks at an old local eatery where locals were gathered, feeling the uniquely bustling energy of Hanoi with my whole body. 🍲 Romantic night view: Once the sun set, a completely different atmosphere unfolded compared to the daytime. With soft lights glowing in every alleyway pub and cafe, it was the perfect way to wrap up the day with a night stroll. 🏮 It was a day where I could soak in Hanoi's unique old-world charm and deep local vibes, quite unlike a luxurious resort vacation.
