Family trip budget for Da Nang: even staying at a 4- to 5-star hotel costs only about 10,000 to 15,000 yen per night!

Da Nang & Hoi An are known for their low accommodation prices. Or rather, Vietnam itself is cheap. Even in a beach resort area like Da Nang, you can stay at a 4-star hotel for around 10,000 yen a night, or a 5-star hotel for around 15,000 yen. And that's the price for a room for two, usually including a breakfast buffet. Depending on the hotel, children roughly aged 4 to 7 can often stay for free. Next, let's talk about transportation costs during the trip to Da Nang & Hoi An. First, we used Grab for almost all our travel. Compared to regular taxi fares, Grab felt about 20-30% cheaper. Also, the Han Market, the Cathedral, and the Museum of Cham Sculpture in Da Nang city can all be visited on foot. So the times we used a taxi were: hotel → DHC Marina, hotel & our current location → restaurant, and hotel → Hoi An.   Hoi An is about a 40-minute drive away, so there's some distance, but I believe the Grab fare came to under 500,000 dong. Grab prices do sometimes spike temporarily during rain or rush hour, occasionally exceeding regular taxi rates, but still, being able to know the fare in advance is a huge relief for your peace of mind. For example, a large lobster-like shrimp costs about 3,000 to 5,000 yen per piece (the price varies depending on the weight).Crab is about the same price, while squid and octopus cost about half that. So when we went, we mainly filled up on cheap fish and shellfish, along with regular Vietnamese dishes, steaks, and burgers.
