🇻🇳 Da Nang Trip Review ✈️ Hoi An Local Restaurant "Ong Hai

May 2025, traveling with good people ✈️ We'd been riding around on a scooter (odobangu) all day, so in the evening I thought I'd take a slow walk out and grab a beer. But as soon as I stepped out of the accommodation, it started drizzling 😅 I grabbed two umbrellas available in the lobby of the place we were staying, but walking all the way to the old town seemed too much, so I wandered around the nearby area and found this local restaurant. I was just passing by and saw so many people that I figured it must be a good restaurant, so I went into a place called "Ong Hai". The menu is pretty simple. We ordered Mi Quang and Cao Lau, the representative dishes of central Vietnam, plus some fries... lol. Trying all three, I realized everyone's taste is different, and since preferences vary, some liked it and some didn't. I had ordered Mi Quang, and after chewing on some fish mint I said the taste was strange, so I compared it with the Cao Lau my friend had ordered... I switched it up lol For my taste, the salty-savory cao lau wins first place! Among the four of us, the tied first place was the fried potatoes!! lol Later I found out this place is actually a pretty famous local spot No wonder... there were so many customers~ We barely got a seat since there was exactly one open The taste wasn't like "amazing," but we enjoyed feeling the local vibe while eating and had such a fun time ^^
