🇻🇳(Review) Serenity Villa Hoian_Overall Evaluation

Length of stay: Dec 1–3, '24, 2 nights 3 days The place I stayed at for 2 nights 3 days in Hoi An~ As for an overall evaluation of Serenity Villa Hoi An, I can't claim to be completely objective, so please just take it as a reference. There must have been people who stayed here before me, but there hadn't been any reviews here so far... I'm leaving a fairly detailed review so it can help with your accommodation selection. Please just take it as "oh, it's like this" and use it for reference.

Comparison by Room Type Family Room Pool View Rooftop Double Room

I booked the two room types above for one night each. I couldn't remember the exact accommodation price, so I copied it from Agoda.

I paid in cash at the accommodation.. The amount includes 1 breakfast..(at the time, 90,000 VND per person) There are only 3 Family Room Pool View rooms in total, one on each floor from 1 to 3. The Rooftop Double Room has only 1 unit, on the 4th floor. Family Room Pool View The Family Pool View I stayed in on the first day.. when I first walked in, it was hard to breathe. There was a smell like mold, I think it might have been more humid because it wasn't long after the rainy season ended. When I mentioned this to the owner, they turned on an air freshener(?) and an air purifier for about 30 minutes. After checking in on the first day and coming back from the night market, that smell had mostly gone away and it was fine to stay in. When checking in, add them as a friend on KakaoTalk We communicate via KakaoTalk~~ hehe

Rooftop Double Room. This place wasn't cleaned, and when I was about to change rooms, they showed me the room's condition in advance. They told me I could keep using the Family Room with the full view at no extra cost. But I said I wanted to try a different type of room, so I said I'd move. Then they cleaned it in the morning. Since it's at the top of the 4th floor, room 401 was the only guest room there. Seeing a washing machine and laundry hanging next to it, I got the feeling it might actually be the host's own home.

Room Key The first thing that surprised me right away is... the room key🔑~ Unlike hotels or resorts, they use an actual key🔑.. When you go out, make sure not to lose it..ㅎㅎ

Elevator It's a 4-story building, but there's no elevator.. T_T You'll need to use the stairs. If you have heavy luggage, just contact the host and they'll help carry it up. It's good exercise, and it was totally walkable~

Lobby Since it's a villa, it's not big. A man who seemed to be the son was mainly in charge of the front desk.. I also saw an older lady there~~ It seemed like they also arrange various tours and vehicle transfers.

Pool and restaurant The pool is smaller than expected. Also, since it was winter season in Da Nang at the time, it seemed like there wouldn't be anyone swimming. In fact, I never saw anyone swimming there. I could see some leaves and floating debris, which made it feel like it wasn't being well maintained.

Breakfast Currently it's 100,000 VND per person. It's not really a separate restaurant... There are tables set up next to the pool, so you can enjoy your meal while looking at the pool, haha As I mentioned in an earlier post, I don't think you really need to sign up for it..

Location Since it's located near the night market, being just a 1-minute walk from the night market, I think the location is great.

View, scenery The room type I stayed in had buildings on both sides.... But at least I could see the sky to the front, so even though it was a villa, the view wasn't bad...

The rooftop double room has a sky view. Overall review: Pros 1. The price is not bad for the size 2. The 4-person family room is reasonably priced 3. Good location, just 1 minute to the night market 4. Kind owner and staff 5. Guests can use the massage service run by the accommodation on a 1+1 basis Overall review: Cons 1. 1. Since it's a villa, not a hotel or resort, hygiene may be a bit of a concern. 2. The room key is an actual key, so it may be inconvenient to lock and unlock the door. 3. There may be a slightly musty smell, which could be uncomfortable for sensitive guests; the rooftop double room is less humid. 4. There's no elevator, but the staff will carry your luggage for you (it's a 4-story building, so it's walkable). 5. I think it's better to skip breakfast. 6. Since it's not a hotel or resort, the pool is small and there are no extra facilities. Overall review If you look up the reviews, this is a place where opinions are divided. For young children or sensitive guests, I'd recommend a resort or a 4-star or higher hotel. The owner and staff are kind, so considering the value for money, I would consider staying again. However, in Danang or Hoi An There are still many accommodations I haven't stayed at, so I'd like to try staying at other places too. While I was trying to switch rooms, I also checked out and looked around at other small rooms of a different type... Due to the seasonal influence, the mugginess/dampness couldn't really be helped. The guests were mostly Westerners rather than Koreans.
