Strolling along Da Nang's shopping street, "Tran Phu St."♪

Xin Chao, everyone!
This time, we're introducing "Tran Phu street," a place we'd love you to visit on your first day of sightseeing in Da Nang♪
There are lots of sightseeing spots gathered here too, so you can enjoy about half a day on this street alone!

First up is "Han Market." It's a great place to start. If you walk a little north from Han Market, you'll find the Da Nang Museum, so if you'd like to learn about the history of Da Nang or the Vietnam War, be sure to visit there as well.
My impression is that Han Market is geared more toward locals. There are plenty of shops selling knick-knacks and food for tourists too, but the atmosphere makes it a little hard to bring yourself to buy anything.

If you start from Han Market and walk south, the first thing you'll soon see is Da Nang Cathedral. Both sides of the street are lined with souvenir shops, restaurants, spas, and more.

Da Nang Cathedral is the pink Catholic church you see here. When I visited, there was a long line of tour groups waiting to take photos!

That's amazing! When I went, I couldn't go inside the church, but it seems you may be able to enter depending on the time. If you're Catholic, it might be nice to attend worship during Mass.

A truly Vietnamese-style street café. Sitting on a chair, gazing out at the street while sipping Vietnamese coffee… that's exactly what Vietnam time is all about, isn't it!

Along this street, there are lots of stylish souvenir shops lined up. There are luxury chocolate shops, bag stores, perfume boutiques, and more. However, the prices were higher than I expected, so I felt they're better suited for special gifts for loved ones rather than buying a lot.

The famous cyclo, Vietnam's traditional rickshaw. It was being pedaled by an older man. Lots of them were parked by the Museum of Cham Sculpture, and about ten people from a tour group were lined up and riding them.

If you walk south along Tran Phu Street, you'll find the "Museum of Cham Sculpture" right beside the roundabout at the end of the street. It displays heritage unearthed from the ruins of the Champa Kingdom, which once held power throughout this region.

Vietnam itself is a major Buddhist country, but the Champa Kingdom seems to have been a state independent from Vietnam, and its religion appears to have been the Shaivite sect of Hinduism. Seeing heritage sites like this really gives you that Southeast Asian feeling, doesn't it~♪
This time we started around 9 a.m., and our route was Han Market → Da Nang Cathedral → a visit to a souvenir shop → the Museum of Cham Sculpture. By the time we finished touring the museum, it was already past 12 o'clock, so now it's time for a lunch break!
It's a tourist attraction that's always featured in guidebooks, so we recommend visiting it on the first day of your Da Nang trip♪
